WMT&R Ltd have recognized the need to develop specialist testing services for a variety of composite
materials, most notably glass and carbon fibre types. This is in addition to
specialist know how in dealing with a wide variety of ferrous, non-ferrous
alloys, thermoset polymers, thermoplastics, fibres, filers and adhesives. WMT&R,
Ltd.
has a significant resource in all disciplines, including
Mechanical Testing,
Tensile, Fatigue,
Metallography,
Corrosion Testing,
Chemical Analysis,
Machining
and Failure Analysis.
In further support of composites testing, WMT&R Ltd
have trained staff available, qualified to BSSM, (British Society for Strain
Measurement) level 1 installation, which enables application of strain gauges
for Tensile, Compression, Shear and Flexural testing at Room, sub-ambient and
elevated temperature. These temperature based tests are conducted using
specialist jigs and fixtures in a purpose built environmental chamber able to
control Temperature from –1000C to +1500C.
Dynamic strain measurement and acquisition
is
performed using Vishay system 5000 and 7000 units enabling provision of data in
suitable file formats for post test analysis or for use in Finite Element
Analysis, (FEA).
