With a range of niche capabilities supported by strategic partnerships in both industry and academia, WMT&R, Ltd. is no ordinary testing house. Services include: tensile and compression testing of light materials, thin sheet, wire, and foil testing, bonding evaluations,  coated products evaluation, polymer testing, Composites testing, and various corrosion testing methods. 

Surface roughness is an important parameter for many material applications. For example; lubricant retention properties in press tool dies and flow characteristics for fluid delivery systems. At WMT&R, Ltd. surface topography data can be derived using the Mahr Perthometer.

Our Monitor Slip and Friction Tester allows quantitative measurements for static and kinetic coefficients of friction of Plastic Film and Sheeting. Standards covered include ASTM D1894 - 01 and certain TAPPI (Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry), including TAPPI T549 for uncoated writing and printing paper, and TAPPI T816 for corrugated and solid fiber board.

An Pneumatic Adhesion Tester with a maximum available Adhesion test of 70MPa enables us to perform Adhesion tests on coatings, (including thermal metal sprayed), paints, laminates, bonded joints, etc. to standards such as ASTM D4541, BS EN 24624, ISO 24624, BS EN 22063.

The intrinsic properties of an adhesive may be obtained through the use of bulk adhesive tests.

Different to many conventional testing companies, we also have the capability to pursue research work for unique situations. We actively seek collaboration with partners and industrial groups for more "cutting-edge" investigations. Our relationships with Innoval Technology, NDT Services Limited and certain British Universities, are prime examples.

Together with our in house testing facilities, we can offer customers a wide range of services relating to wear, failure analysis and corrosion issues and in particular painted surfaces. This may be in the form of routine test campaigns, investigative projects, or consultative advice, with access to a depth of knowledge in the subject that is second to none.
